In order to set up or enable multi-factor authentication for your user account, you must already be logged in to Cantook Hub.

Once installed on one of your devices (smartphone, tablet or computer) and properly configured, an authentication application provides you with a valid verification code recognised by Cantook Hub at all times.

Configuring an authentication application for Cantook Hub

You can secure your Cantook Hub account with the authentication application of your choice. The following are some of the most popular applications freely available:

  • Google Authenticator
  • Microsoft Authenticator
  • Authy

If you are already using a password or keychain management application, have a closer look at it: it may be able to generate verification codes, and even enter them automatically when you log in to Cantook Hub.

Whatever authentication application you use, you can associate your Cantook Hub account with it by doing the following.

Then proceed as follows:

  1. Go to Profile > Users
  2. Click on the pencil icon to the right of the user name
  3. Click on the Security tab
  4. Click the Enable application multi-factor authentication button
  5. Install (on your phone, tablet or computer) the authentication application of your choice, if you have not already done so 
  6. In the authentication application, use the "+" button, or any similar command, to add an account
  7. Scan the QR code displayed by Cantook Hub in the authentication application, using the scan feature

    If you cannot scan the QR code, manually enter the secret code that appears by clicking on Can't scan the QR code?


  8. Enter the 6-digit verification code generated by the authentication application in the field provided

  9. Click the Activate button. Application authentication is now activated for your account. The platform then displays a page with 16 emergency codes.

    Keep these recovery codes in a safe place, in a password management software: they are your only way to log into your account if you do not have access to your authentication application.


Multi-factor authentication takes effect immediately. From now on, each time you log in, Cantook Hub will ask you to enter a verification code generated by your authentication application.

Changing the configuration

If you have already enabled application multi-factor authentication, and you want to change or reset its configuration, proceed as follows.

  1. Go to Profile > Users
  2. Click on the pencil icon to the right of the user name
  3. Click on the Security tab
  4. Click the Modify the configuration button
  5. In the authentication application, use the "+" button, or any similar command, to add an account
  6. Scan the QR code displayed by Cantook Hub in the authentication application, using the scan feature. If the account already exists, the application will prompt you to replace it.

  7. Enter the password you use to log in to the platform
  8. Click on the Send a verification code by SMS button. The platform sends a text message containing a 6-digit verification code
  9. Enter the verification code generated by the authentication application in the Verification code field
  10. Click on the Continue button

The new configuration takes effect immediately, and will now be the only one allowing you to access your account.

You cannot disable multi-factor authentication completely. At most, if you have both authentication modes enabled, you can disable either one of them, but not both. If you are unable to log in to your account, please contact the helpdesk (help@demarque.com) or your account manager.
