In addition to the metadata of the audiobook itself (summary, classifications, contributors, etc.), each audio track has its own metadata, to document, for example:

  • the title of the chapter(s) included in the track;
  • the title of the book to which the track is linked;
  • its position in the audiobook;
  • a preview of the book cover.

Audio tracks metadata is completely unrelated to the metadata you must otherwise enter into the platform for any given publication, and must be documented during the audiobook production.

In order to provide the best reading experience, make sure that the audio tracks metadata gets included when producing, or having an audiobook produced,

The length of the audio file should not exceed 79 minutes, otherwise it will be rejected by the reseller. You can, for example, split the track into two parts:

  • FILE_NAME_001_part_1.mp3
  • FILE_NAME_001_part_2.mp3

All this metadata allows the reading application to present the reader with a correct and complete overview of the downloaded audiobook, as below:

If the audio tracks metadata is not documented, the reading application cannot display the audiobook information to the reader, with the following result:
