Android (Google) tablets and smartphones startup guide

To read an ebook borrowed from your library on a tablet or smartphone that uses Google's Android operating system, follow these steps.

Here are some tablet brands that use Google's Android operating system: Acer Iconia, ASUS ZenPad, Google Nexus et Pixel, Huawei MediaPad, Lenovo Tab, LG G Pad, Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Here are some phone manufacturers that use Google's Android operating system: Acer, Alcatel, Archos, Asus, Google, HTC, Huawei, Lenovo, LG, Meizu, Motorola, Nokia, Oppo, Panasonic, Samsung, Sony, Vodafone, ZTE.

Using the Pretnumerique application

The Pretnumerique application allows you to browse, borrow and read ebooks from your library all within the application itself. No file transfer is required. It supports Licensed Content Protection (LCP) DRM and not the Adobe Content Server (ACS) DRM to protect ebook files. No Adobe ID is required to use it.

While the vast majority of ebooks are protected by LCP, some ebooks, due to their format or the distributor that supplies them, are protected by ACS. In such cases, you will need to use another application to read them (see Reading with another application).
