When I download an ebook on my computer, it doesn't open with the right program. How do I change the default program for ebooks?
Windows 7 and 8
Go to Start > Control Panel > Default Programs > Associate a file type or protocol with a program.
UnderExtensions, select .acsm puis and click the buttonChange program. The windowOpen withshould appear.
Click on theBrowsebutton and find the desired program. For example, Adobe Digital Editions should be in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Digital Editions\digitaleditions.exe.
Click onOpento associate the .acsm file type with the selected program.
Windows 10
Right-click the Start button.
Click on Settings.
Click on Apps.
Select Default apps on the left.
Scroll down a little and selectChoose default apps by file type.
Next to the .acsm file extension, select Adobe Digital Editions.
Windows 11
Open the Settings app(Windows key + i).
Click onApps in the left pane.
Click on Default apps in the right pane.
In the Set defaults for applications section, enter the name of the application you want to set as default and then click on the application name.
To set the selected application as the default application for a file type, click on Choose a default or on the name of the application currently defined.
Click on the desired application. If your application is not displayed, click on More apps.
Click on OK.
You can also directly enter the fille extension whose default application you want to change in the text field under Set defaults for a file types or link types.
Mac
Right-click on the file .acsmthat you downloaded and selectGet info.
In theOpen with:drop-down menu, choose the desired application.
Click on theChange allbutton to associate all files with the selected application.
Click onContinue.
Now double-clicking on the .acsm file that you downloaded should open in the desired program.
