Some technical information about the summary:

  • it must be more than 50 characters long;
  • it must not exceed 4000 characters;
  • <b></b> tags can be used to make part of the text bold;
  • <i></i> tags can be used to italicise part of the text.

The summary is one of the most compelling elements for the reader. It is the perfect place to include positive reviews of the book or a biography of the author. A structured description, for example with a catchphrase, can also appeal to the reader. If you copy and paste elements from other sites or documents to create your description, pay attention to the final layout of your summary (in the Browsing>Overview tab of the publication, you can see how your description will appear in the reseller's shop).

You can also add the author's biography or literary awards in fields specially provided for this purpose. Unfortunately, these fields are not always taken into account by all retailers. If you want a particular piece of information to stand out, it is best to mention it in the subtitle or description.

Summary example

Immerse yourself in one of the most famous love stories of English literature.

In Verona, where the Montagues and Capulets have an ancient hatred for each other, Romeo, son of Montague, is in love with Rosaline, while the Capulets are preparing to give a great party for Juliet, his daughter, to meet Count Paris, who has proposed to her. Because he thinks Rosaline will be there, Romeo goes to the ball - and falls in love with Juliet at first sight. He declares his love for Juliet under her balcony that evening and the next day asks Friar Laurence to marry them and reconcile their feuding families. But then, in a Verona square, Tybalt, Juliet's cousin, provokes Romeo, who refuses to fight. Mercutio, his friend, draws instead, but when Romeo sees Mercutio mortally wounded by Tybalt, he decides to avenge him and Tybalt falls in turn.
