Cantook Hub offers publishers the possibility to create and distribute links to excerpts of their publications by means of standardized URLs.
These links allow anyone to open the excerpt of a publication directly in the online reader.
Creating a URL for reading an excerpt
The standardized URL is always in the format https://{domain}/p/{identifier}.
In order for the link to be valid, the following elements must be provided:
{domain}: the domain name of the Cantook Hub instance where the publication is located. This is the name of the platform as it appears at the beginning of the address. For example: entrepotnumerique.com, cantook.net, edenlivres.fr, edigita.cantook.net, cantook.libranda.com.
{identifier}: format identifier (ISBN, EAN or internal key) or publication ID. This may be a digital format identifier (recommended) or the paper format (if provided by the publisher).
Example
The standardized URL to the excerpt of a book having the ISBN 123-4-5678-9012-3 and located on the entrepotnumerique.com platform would be:
https://entrepotnumerique.com/p/1234567890123
Requirements
Even if the URL created is correct, the following requirements must be met for the link to be valid.
An excerpt must be available
The publication represented by the identifier part of the URL must have an valid excerpt available.
If you have publisher access to the platform, there are two ways you can check for the presence of the excerpt:
